Some weeks back we discussed about Apple working on the smaller ipad which might be the ipad 3 with 7.8 inch screen so the news is not just a rumor as Apple has really started this project in the production line which will have a approx smaller 7.85-inch iPad which will be starting production in Q3 of 2012 so expect the release in the early 2013 as this news came just before the ipad 3 release in march 7 due to the fact and prototypes found this news has been confirmed now which will have a smaller iPad with HD screen and 7.7 inch screen.
This rumor has been confirmed as one of the popular Newspaper site the Taiwanese publication Digitimes which has confirmed online via its online news which has now confirmed the rumor is true and apple will start producing the iPad with 7.8 inch screen in its China Factories later this year which will be a competition for the Kindle Fire from Amazon and other smaller tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and also the latest release of Toshiba Excite 7.7 from Toshiba

Makers in Apple’s iPad supply chain have started delivering samples of 7.85-inch iPads for verification, with volume production likely to begin in the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest, according to industry sources.
The price of the 7.85-inch iPad is likely to be set at US$249-299, since Apple is also expected to release an 8GB iPad 2 for US$349-399, and has lowered the price of the 16GB iPad 2 to US$449, the sources noted.
Apple is expected to introduce the tablet next year which will be very cheap though it wont be as low as the kindle Fire for US $ 199 so the expected release price of it is for US$ 249-299 which will be portable gadget and also the another confirmation seen was regarding the ipad 2 which sill come for about US$349-399 which will have storage of 8GB as for now ipad 2 comes in 16 GB,32GB and 64 GB all in both 3G model and Wi-Fi model though the another rumor is will ipad 3 have 128 GB of storage
