iPhone Dev Team a well known hacker group for iphone has released a new exploit for iPhone OS 3.1.3 baseband which actually means that now there will be another new tool to jailbreak and unlock iphone in future. According to MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team(through their twitter update) they have discovered a crashing command that will be used by yellowsn0w which is another iPhone unlocking tool. This exploit will create a new and another option to Jailbreak and Unlock the Latest iphone with latest firmwares..

Recently iPhone hackers already released two other exploits for the baseband 05.12.01 that has been implemented in iPhone OS 3.1.3. Sherif Hashim a well known hacker has discovered an exploit for iPhone OS 3.1.3 baseband last week and later MuscleNerd confirmed about the this hack that. Geohot, the developer of another jailbreaking tool like blackra1n, blacksn0w, have also discovered a working exploit for baseband 05.12.01 which will now be used to jailbreak iphone OS 3.1.3

MuscleNerd announced on his Twitter page:

There is now some interesting thing being discussed upon for few hours about the new unlock tool from Geohot which might be named as limesn0w .This could be the next release from Geohot for unlocking iDevices like iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, seems to be a real deal as limesn0w.com has been registered by the genius boy geohot and the snap shot is given below.

Previously we discussed about the Limera1n for [How to] jailbreak iPad on iOS 3.2.2., iPhone 4G, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G/3G using Limera1n .There was a release from geohot about its latest all in one jailbreaking tool as limera1n some hours back and there was a schedule from The Chronic Dev team to launch their most awaited jailbreaking tool GreenPois0n which would jailbreak iOS 4.0/iOS 4.1. there was a release from geohot its new jailbreaking tool Limera1n without any confirmation from Dev team members. The Chronic Dev team decided to delay its release till all the things settle which seems to be a wise decision from the Chronic Dev team.

Experts came to a conclusion that its dam sure that Apple will find a new  solution or another patch for the bootrom hole used in Limera1n. So, to avoid the wastage of two bootrom exploits, Chronic Dev team has officially announced the unfortunate delay ans further news can be seen in some hours or a day or so.

Thanks to the irresponsible antics of geohot, we will have to delay the release of greenpois0n (new ETA = as soon as possible), so that we have time to clean up his little mess and integrate the exploit he uses in limera1n into greenpois0n. We know that this is not what some people want to hear, but due to geohot needing to feed his ego (as usual) and revealing his limera1n exploit, we do not have any other responsible options.

i tried Limera1n tool which is still in beta stage and there are many bugs, and GeoHot is still fixing them by himself one by one so there is not a final release from him and there is no conformation or release from Chronic Dev team as well so lets wait for some hours or days for its official final release.

Note :- This is to inform that this patch does not upgrade your baseband firmware if you were previously jailbroken using any jailbreak tool except Spirit Jailbreak and JailbreakMe. You can later use ultrans0w to unlock iPhone 3GS after use of this patch..

Also this is to notify that this method is not for normal users becasue times might come during the process so that you need to have more sophisticated abilities to move forward. Cydia is not currently compatible with iPhone 4.2 iOS and you need to have OpenSSH from http://apt.telesphoreo.org/cydia/debs/, openssl_0.9.8k-9_iphoneos-arm.deb and openssh_5.2p1-8_iphoneos-arm.deb.

So Here is How to jailbreak Iphone 3GS and Iphone 4 with old bootRom on iOS 4.2 Beta and iOS 4.2 Final version.

1. All the material grabbed should be placed in one folder.
2. Now, you have to patch PwnageTool with custom bundle. To do so, right click on PwnageTool.app and show package contents.
3. Sail to Contents>Resources>Firmware Bundles and paste the custom bundle named as iPhone2,1_4.2_8C5091e.bundle and close the folder
4. Patched PwnageTool 4.01 is now ready to prepare a custom iPhone 4.2 iOS for iPhone 3GS.
5. Launch PwnageTool bundle and it will select the corresponding stock iOS 4.2 firmware for iPhone 3GS.
6. You should be familiar with PwnageTool already to proceed.
7. Once custom iPhone 4.2 iOS has been cooked, you need to restore iPhone 3GS
8. Launch iTunes and select iPhone from sidebar. The hold the ALT key and select restore. Browse to the custom firmware and let iTunes do the rest of process.
9. Once installation is done, iPhone will restart at its own and you will have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS 4.2 Beta.
