1. First of all simply download the following
   • Download Redsn0w 0.9.10 b2 b3- Windows (be sure to run in Administrator mode)
   • Download Redsn0w 0.9.10 b2 b3- Mac
   • Download iOS 5.0.1 ipsw for iPhone, iPod touch or iPad
   • Download iTunes
2. After downloading simply connect your iDevice with your PC via USB, and open iTunes then Restore to iOS 5.0.1 Note that if your idevice is run on ios 5.0.1 dont follow this step just move to the next.

Comex: No. (But I’ll want to jailbreak my phone, so I hope someone finds them :p)

Comex: I don’t know if I’d want to do that- I’ve never had a job before and I don’t know what it’s like- and I intend to go back to              college soon.

Comex: Mostly with congratulations.

Comex: I’ve made a good amount of money through donations, which is mostly being used to help pay for college. JailbreakMe 2.0          was like $40,000; 3.0 was $15,000 (not quite sure why it decreased).

• The jailbreak community took a huge hit when you left. Do you think the active players can outsmart you now that you’re playing for the other team, or are you Apple’s final solution to their jailbreak problem? (bitterorca)

Comex: There are a lot of smart people working for Apple already; maybe I can help, but I doubt I can stop people from finding                    exploits.

Comex: I certainly don’t mind. Jailbreak community puts an idea in front of people with a crappy implementation; Apple polishes              it to the point where it can be an OS feature. I don’t know whether Apple actually pays attention to jailbreak apps, but see App                     Store, copy and paste, multitasking, etc…

• Why did you choose to get involved in specifically the iPhone jailbreaking scene, what was it attracted you to the iPhone? (Colonel_Ham_Sandwich)

Comex: I had one… and it was a device that (a) had a lot of functionality, (b) had a nice and flexible UNIX OS, (c) already had an                   active homebrew community, and (d) was really cool. :p

• Did you always set out to be a hacker or was it just something that interested you and found you had a [knack] for? (Colonel_Ham_Sandwich)

Comex: I never wanted to be a black hat hacker, but I did enjoy hacking (originally SQL injection and crap) as a natural extension               of programming.

• Finally, in regards to the PDF bug used for the JailbreakMe.com jailbreak, where on earth did you get the brilliant idea for it? (Colonel_Ham_Sandwich)

Comex: FreeType was one of the less studied open source components of iOS.

• Are you optimistic about the future of the iOS platform? What features are you looking forward to next? (iconoclaus)

Comex: My personal opinion: it will probably continue to beat the pants off its competitors in performance for a while yet, and                   Apple’s “take your time but do it right” policy on features will probably continue to make it a pleasure to use. But I’m impatient:                 other platforms (WebOS) have a lot of fun stuff with no real equivalent in iOS.

• Do you have any regrets? (bitterorca)

Comex: I should have worked on these jailbreaks more consistently, and released them more quickly; I’ve had several exploits                   fixed on me that could have been used in a jailbreak if I was quicker at packaging.

Today i have 2 good news and one bad news which most probably you have heard.

Lets hear what is the bad news so that the goodness remains at the last. It is reported that Comex who first brought iPad2 jailbreak”JailbreakMe 3.0” on iOS 4.3.3. Followed by Apple’s iOS 4.3.4. Now, Comex is leaving the jailbreak community. It has made the community and the beneficiaries sad. Though it is for the good. He is to join Apple as an intern. We wish him all the best for this.

The 2 good news are that first of all Though Comex  is to leave and join the Apple, he has promised to release jailbreak tool for  iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 as JailbreakMe 3.0 doesnt work on ios 4.3.1. This is to be done before he joins.

The second good news is that hopefully as Comex tweets recently that JailbreakMe 4.0 is to be released by MuscleNerd as next version , PDF based jailbreak too for jailbreaking iOS devices on Apple’s most recent iOS 5 devices to be released in October with iPhone5 release.

Seems like good news is more dominating than the loss. Be it jailbreak community or Apple, technology lovers are going to be benefitted.

We just reported that apple released iOS 5 beta 5. For jailbreaking, iPhone dev team has released Redsnow 0.9.8b5. Now wondering how to jailbreak, you can find it in this news.

How to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5 for iPhone, iPad, ipod touch using redsnow 0.9.8b5.

• First of all download the redsnow   used for jailbreaking click here,
• Next Run redsn0w 0.9.8b5
• Now click on Browse to select the iOS 5 beta 5 ipsw and click Next

• Now simply Check Install Cydia option and click on Next.
• Then make sure that your device is powered off cum plugged in. Now put your device in DFU mode by doing the following.

• Press  power button for 3 seconds
• Then press  Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
• Now release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds
• Now finally your device will be in DFU mode
• Now you have successfully been able to jailbreak your device on iOS 5 beta 5.

Note that since its a tethered boot. you Do keep in mind that this is a tethered boot so you need to connect your device to the computer, launch redsn0w and check Just boot tethered right now instead of Install Cydia.

The 5.0b4 OTA update won’t work on JB devices due to an explicit check of /Applications..almost like a present from Apple

NOTE: It appears that by design, the OTA update that became available starting with iOS 5 beta4 will *not* be automatically applied to jailbroken devices.  That’s a relief to those who don’t want to lose their jailbreak via OTA pushes.  If you’re jailbroken, you’ll need to use the standard iTunes method to get to iOS 5 beta4.
