Did you know Windows 8 is four times faster than windows 7? Don’t believe me? Look at this test result that were performed an (overclocked) 3.8 GhZ i7 machine with 6GB of RAM, a 2TB hard drive, an Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT, and connected to the internet over Ethernet at a maximum speed of 20mbps.

Booting is much faster in Windows 8 than on Windows 7. It is of no doubt that OS works faster on both windows 8 and 7.

When asked about compatibility of Windows 7 application with Window 8 some critic including NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang told us that Windows 8 will run Windows Phone 7 applications in some capacity. While Windows 8 appear to be very similar to windows 7, will it really happen? Is it really possible? Here is what Mr. Huang has to say.

In an interview Mr. Huang said:

“ARM processors hold a strong advantage because a majority of mobile applications are written using that standard, and not the one Intel uses. Likewise, he said he believes that apps written for Windows Phone 7 will run on Windows 8, which is an operating system designed for both PCs and tablets.”

Although Mr.Huang could be talking senseless thing for sure ,there is possibility that it may really happen . If we go by the rumors in the market which says applications are built on top of Silverlight, which is a multi-platform technology and moreover Windows 8 is being built as an OS both for tablets and desktops and there is possiblity that Windows Phone 7 Applications would only run on an ARM-based tablet device, for whose processor WP7 application are made for.
