Gmail has now become one of the must have email account if you want a easy and secure mailing service and since you use Gmail mostly you will have lots of Gmail address book and now If you want to synchronize all your Gmail address book contacts with Thunderbird hence to update on Desktop Email Client from  Mozilla for this purpose you can use a Firefox add-on called gContactSync. This will synchronize all Gmail Contacts with Thunderbird address book  and  and that  you can sync My Contacts group, all contacts, or all contacts and groups (with mailing lists) by importing contacts from one or more Gmail accounts.

gContactSync-520x279

but you must remember to sync that you should never rename or delete  “My Contacts”, “Coworkers”, “Family”, or “Friends” because gContactSync. only understands the keywords firstly how you sync… so if you change or rename it it will understand them as another contact..

If the synchronization fails or the status keeps text says “Synchronizing…”  once you Sync , fix this by heading to gContactSync >> Preferences >> Accounts, click “Reset All Synced ABs”, and restart Thunderbird. This plugin supports Thunderbied version 2.0 or above only.
