Google Talk and Gmail Chat to get File Transfer Feature

by SNGV on March 30, 2010

in Google

As soon as Google launched Google talk lots of people shifted to it but due to lack of the Sending file option it is not that easy to use for all the tasks we do but Google now has now solved this problem and  announced at the Google Talk Blog that it will be introducing a File Transfer feature to Google Chat on iGoogle and Orkut.

The interesting part is that Google has promised to bring this feature to Gmail Chat soon as well which would make IM’ing more fun and social.

Here is what they have to say about it:

This feature is also compatible with the file transfer functionality in the Google Talk downloadable software, so you can share files directly from the web with folks who use the desktop version.

Sending file is very easy as soon as this feature will be launched and you can do it once user would have to do is start a conversation and click on “Send a File…” in the Actions menu. This feature will be cross-compatible with Google Talk. so enjoy this superb feature

This is awesome feature by Gmail. I have been waiting for this.
Since the time I left yahoo messenger, this is one feature which I always missed
Though it's still not live in my Gmail chat
