As soon as the official confirmation came out about the support for multitasking there has been thoughts for the users using iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G has in their mind as will taht support multitasking feature ? but its sad to say that it wont support the multitasking suport because of slower speed of CPU processor and lesser amount of RAM. However there is news in the web that , iPhone HD (4G) / iPhone OS 4.0 / iPhone 3GS supports multitasking feature and you can enjoy the multitasking feature and you can get latest iphone OS firmware 4.0 beta 3 from here .
But there has been a news that the iPhone Dev Team has developed a simple hack to enable multitasking support on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G but this hack cant be applicable in the 1st generation iPhone 2G and 1st generation iPod touch 1G.
How to Enable Multitasking Feature on iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G
- First upgrade iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G to firmware 4.0
- Navigate to /System/Library/CoreService/SpringBoard.app/N82AP.plist. N82AP.plist file >> Change it’s value from “multitasking=false” to “multitasking=true”
- Finally You are done.
