So you need to is just follow the instructions to jailbreak iPhone 4S using Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7
Step 1: Download iTunes 10.5 and install it on your PC.
Step 2: Sync and back up your iPhone using iTunes to get the old contacts
Step 3: Now update iOS 5 or you can use tutorial here to preserve Baseband and upgrade iOS 5 or keep the iOS 5 intact if you have already installed.
Step 4: Download Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7 and start it.
Step 5: Click on “Jailbreak” Tab which you can see in the attached image as well .
Step 6: Once you are here select “Install Cydia” and even enable the Multitask Gestures on iOS 5 on the third option too
Step 7: Switch off your device and put it into DFU mode as the process will be provided on the Screen with Time itself and follow as suggested:
Step 8: Now take your time as Redsn0w will take its time to jailbreak and you are done and Restore your Phone where previously you have Backed it up.
Step 9: Once you are completed you will see a new icon named “Cydia” which will be blank and then you need to reconnect it to Computer and launch Redsn0w, go to Extras and select “Just boot” option. Follow the on-screen instructions starting from STEP 7 now you will see the “Redsn0w logo”. After the deice has restarted then you will see “Cydia” icon and you are done and get all the apps you want from Cydia and if you have preserved baseband get it unlocked using Ultrasn0w 1.2.4 from HERE or GEVEY SIM from HERE.
