This is the lastest jailbreak that has been in the news which is almost smililar to the untethered jailbreak that you know for the older firrmware which incluses the firmware upto iOS 4.3.5 but the bad part is only 1 % of the Cydia apps will work which means only 99% of your jailbreak related apps and tweaks cant be used in this jailbreak which is a bad part of this jailbreak but you can have a try if you want so this is why it is called as the semi-tethered jailbreak else the jailbreaked iOS 5 on iPhone 4S,iphone 4 will reboot like in untethered jailbreak .

What are the features that you can still use once you have the Semi-tethered reboot state :

How to do Semi-Tethered jailbreak for ,iPhone 4S(not for now),iPhone 4,iPhone 3GS,iPhone 3GS New Bootrom,iPad 1,iPad 2(not for now),iPod Touch 4G,iPod Touch 3G?
STEP 1: Download and install iOS 5 which you can download from HERE
STEP 2: Now you can use Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7 to jailbreak iOS 5 from HERE .
STEP 3: Once you have jailbroken and Cydia installed then get into Cydia and navigate to Manage > Sources.
STEP 4: Now Press Edit then insert http://thebigboss.org/semitether Like below and then click Add Source and you will see the SemiTetherword some where there
STEP 5: OR you can search for Semi Tether, install it then reboot your device.
STEP 6: Now just tethered boot from redsn0w from Redsn0w 0.9.9 b7
STEP 7: Once you reboot you are done and this is the untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 with some drawbacks.
