Microsoft, Which is soon to launch its newest mobile version of Windows 7 mobile seems to be seriously engaging for this update and there is news in the web that the software giant, has unexpectedly filed a lawsuit against Motorola. According to the lawsuit, the popular mobile manufacturing company has infringed nine of its patents and seems to be the reason for it.
Microsoft has directly named two of Motorola phone models, Motorola Droid 2 and Motorola Charm, which are using the patented technology without any official permission from the company, says the Microsoft and . Motorola uses Android OS in their recent phones, and Microsoft has indirectly targeted the Android OS in their lawsuit.
So pundits has clarified it as one of its recent idea to survive with the current competitive market where Apple,RIM and Android is Dominating down rating the Microsoft’s to Windows Mobile platforms.

“We have a responsibility to our customers, partners, and shareholders to safeguard the billions of dollars we invest each year in bringing innovative software products and services to market,” Horacio Gutierrez, Microsoft’s corporate vice president and deputy general counsel of Intellectual Property and Licensing, said in a statement.
Google’s Android OS is a Open source so it is completely free to use and they do not offer any support to the companies that are using this operating system in their mobile phones. where as , Microsoft provides full support to its Windows Mobile OS. This might be another reason that Motorola was also a part of Microsoft’s Development program for its mobile version and now Motorola has shifted to Android which can be some clues for it.
In the period of 2003-2007, Motorola had a license to use Microsoft’s patented technology in their phones but Later on, however, the company never renewed the license, which is infringement of the patents this seems to be similar as Apple-HTC battle over the patents is not so old and Microsoft also wants to make a point before releasing their upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS in the market. and hope this will be enough for Microsoft windows 7 mobile will be fit to survive in the current market.
