Motorola Droid is in the news again as Rumors is everywhere the web that it will be getting the Android 2.2 (Froyo) from 13 July. The Android Eclair a.k.a Android 2.1 update for the Droid took quite sometime to be available widely. The release date of the![]()
update was pushed back numerous times, before being rolled out to various regions in the world so this can be the final date for it to be released..
Hopefully, this time Verizon and Motorola will not be doing the same with the Froyo update as users has been waiting for it since long time and very long time. The keyboard-less successor of the Droid – the Droid X – will hit the retail stores on 15th July. Motorola had already said that the original Droid would get the Froyo update in July, while the Droid X will get the update in “late August”. which is late itself but can be accepted so most of the users are waiting for its update for their device..
The Motorola Droid is one of the highest selling, and the most popular Android handset in the market till date Even though the phone is old hardware-wise and lacks some features that latest gadgets have now days even though it still sells like hot cakes in the market..so a release of the update can create greater possibilities for it.
