Nokia is back again with the launch of 2 smartphones. they are Lumia 800 and Lumia 710. These are based on Microsoft Windows phone7.5 OS.It is in launch competing with the iPhone. It is also connecting the android software.Not only this,4 new basic phones are also announced. With this launch, Mr Elop has claimed it would enable more billion people to access to net. There wont be any difference between feature phone and smartphone.Although the phones will be relatively cheap, they will sport features like touch screens, 5 mega pixel cameras, bright screens, 32GB storage for music and long battery life. Main focus on these smartphones.
Nokia Lumia features
Regarding the feature of Lumia 710, it has many funky colours coming at affordable price.It will be the most affordable windows phone.
The phone’s product manager, Kevin Shiels says
“New phones would have integrated cameras with high-end Carl Zeiss lenses.”
Lumia 800 is based on the MeeGo-based N9 Nokia phone. It is advance form of the design.
Mr Elop said
“Lumia is the first real Windows phone” and predicted the company would be the leader in “smartphone design and craftsmanship”.
Lumia launch is accompanied by 35 network operators.It will start campaign of “the amazing everyday” which is viral marketing stunt. Nokia is backed up by Microsoft with the huge investment for advertizing the new Windows phone.Though there are several other companies featuring windows phone like HTC,samsung,LG, Nokia is better in terms of integration of location-based services like Nokia Maps,
navigation service Drive will be free. It will not run in an app but will use HTML 5 technology, and will be updated with traffic information in real-time.
Nokia services are

- a live-streaming music service Mix Radio and Liveview,
- ESPN sports hub, which will provide free access to text and video news from ESPN.
- Nokia Pulse, social networking with location services.

So, this launch surely determines Nokia’s comeback after the huge fall recently challenging the smartphones,iPhone
Mr Elop expects,
“We expect people to see something special when they hear Nokia,”Windows Phone shows information and updates directly on the first screen, without having to tap into applications.”
