Sony got a big hit from hackers in the PS network and since the Geohot issue pushed PS 3 back Sony has made some huge changes in its sales policy and now steps has been taken so the press release and presentation in Cologne, Germany Sony has announced a worldwide price adjustment to the PlayStation 3 console where the PS3 will now be charged just $249.99 160 GB model in the US and €250 in Europe so the big news seems to be for US becasue for its cheap rate to compete Xbox 360 console from Microsoft.
The PlayStation 3 model whcih has now a 160GB of storage and the price of the 320GB PS 3 which will cost you about $300 in the US and same 300 euros in European territories which is just 29,980 yen so here is what SCEA’s CEO Jack Tretton wrote on the official blog.
“In addition, a limited edition inFAMOUS 2 bundle is now available at participating retailers across North America. The bundle retails for $299 and includes a 320 GB PlayStation 3, a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus,”
The announcements has cleared that the sales has hurtled them and the reason for it is the downtime of its PS network and hacks of millions of its users so “Sony is dropping the price point at a time when there’s been no considerable pressure from retail to do so,” said Crossley. “That’s a big change from PS3′s previous price drop.”
i pray that this time sales of the PS 3 console jets normalized this time and since geohot is out of it hope no one hacks the firmware of the PS 3 console but who knows that might come tomorrow but Sony got hurtled and hurted very badly hope sales becomes normal soon.[via]
