Momentum 4: New information on Sennheiser's next headset

New information on Sennheiser's next headset

Sennheiser is finally giving the Momentum 3 Wireless a successor with the aptly named Momentum 4 Wireless

The Momentum 4 Wireless supports SBC, AAC and aptX Adaptive codecs (aptX LL disappears in favour of the latter).

The German manufacturer's flagship is back with a slightly modernised technical sheet and above all with great promises...

We know more about the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless.

The comfort, class and build quality of the Momentum 3 make Sennheiser's wireless headphones one of the best noise cancelling headphones released in recent years.

New information from Canadian retailer Canada computers reveals a very different iteration from its predecessors. According to the details, the price will also be lowered.

New design and lower price

After a teaser a few months ago, things are becoming clearer for the Momentum 4 Wireless. The launch of the accessory is imminent, and is scheduled for this month in the US. The headphones will feature a new design, without the adjustable metal headband. Sennheiser seems to have been inspired by competitors, especially Sony's headphones.

The design change is quite drastic, with a more sober aesthetic. The Momentum 4 will feature pivoting earpieces and a rounded headband. The ability to fold the headband is gone, which is a small disappointment for fans of the brand.

In addition to the design, Sennheiser has also revised a few things. First of all, the company promises four times the battery life of the previous model. That's theoretically 60 hours on a single charge, instead of about 16 hours.

The Momentum 4 could also be cheaper, costing around US$350.

For comparison, the version 3 sold for US$400 at the time of its release. On the technical side, nothing official has been released yet.

What we do know is that the aptX Adaptive codec will be supported. With its price and build quality, Sennheiser's new headphones seem to be well on their way to competing with Sony, Bose and even Apple.

Conclusion

The Momentum 4 Wireless will be available everywhere on 23 August, but it is already available for pre-order at a price of £349.90. Here again, Sennheiser is matching some of its direct rivals by reducing the launch price of its headphones by £50.
